While Arizona is a beautiful US state in its own right it is sometimes better to change things up by travelling to other areas. The destination doesn’t even have to be far in order to get a change of scenery. There are many wonderful places you can travel to during the weekend. Some of them are close to Arizona while some are inside the state!
Sedona
The city of Sedona resides in Arizona and it is well-known for its array of red sandstone formations. The formations are a beautiful sight to behold during the rising or setting sun because they glow a brilliant orange or red when illuminated by sunlight. If you are a fan of hiking and biking mountain trails then Sedona is the weekend destination for you.
Lake Havasu
Lake Havasu City is located on the lake’s eastern shore. If you want to spend your weekend catching fish and enjoying boat rides then this is the place for you. The area is well-known for offering recreational boating and fishing. You can also participate in fishing tournaments held on the lake.
San Diego
If you want to take a weekend trip outside of Arizona then San Diego, California is a good option. There are many places you can visit. You can go relax in one of the beaches, or visit attractions such as Belmont amusement park, San Diego Zoo, Sea World San Diego, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and the Balboa Park. There are also many historic sites to visit such as Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, and Mission San Diego de Alcala. Travelling to San Diego for the weekend ensures that you won’t run out of places to visit and enjoy.
Los Angeles
Nicknames the City of Angels, Los Angeles is the weekend destination for you if you want to get a taste of Hollywood glamor. You can check out the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Los Angeles Opera, the Dolby Theatre, the Museum of Contemporary Art, The Hollywood Walk of Fame, and more. Who knows, you might even meet some celebrities.
Las Vegas
Las Vegas, a city in Nevada, is the go-to weekend destination if you’re in the mood to party and have fun. The city’s offerings when it comes to gambling, fine dining, shopping and enjoyable nightlife are known worldwide. Be sure to check out the Las Vegas Strip while you’re there!
