Weekend of Flight Fun as Buckeye Air Fair Returns to the West Valley

The Buckeye Air Fair is making its comeback at a valley airport during the holiday weekend, offering a variety of activities suitable for the whole family.

The annual aviation exhibition, situated at 3000 S. Palo Verde Rd., will showcase a range of air performances and offer a diverse selection of entertainment options suitable for people of all ages.

The celebration will commence on Friday with the inclusion of “Field Trip Friday” section, which invites students from 5th to 12th grade to engage in interactive activities, visit booths, and listen to guest speakers in the field of aviation from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


On both Saturday and Sunday, the weekend event will include two airshows, with the first one being held from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and the second one from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This year, Buckeye has added a new addition to their airshow, a special night performance on Saturday that will include a dazzling fireworks show.

The Aviation Academy at Buckeye Air Fair, taking place over the course of the weekend, is focused on motivating and exciting the upcoming generation of aviation enthusiasts with a variety of activities.

“SciTech Saturday” and “Flight School Sunday” are two exciting events that will take place over the weekend. “SciTech Saturday” will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature interactive STEAM activities. On the other hand, “Flight School Sunday” will give participants the chance to learn the fundamentals of flying from experienced pilots and aviation experts. This event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include hands-on experiences with flight simulators.

Aviators who are present at the occasion have the opportunity to take part in the AOPA fly-in organized by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. This event provides them with a chance to access top-quality educational material, stay updated on the latest advancements in aviation technology, and attend informational workshops.

The gates will be unlocked at 9 a.m. every day, and there is no charge for admission. If purchased online before Thursday, discounted parking passes are available for $10. On the day of, parking can be obtained for $15, but only with credit cards.

The VIP Package is an option for those looking for a high-quality experience at the Buckeye Air Fair, providing a prime location for viewing the airshow, continuous refreshments, entertainment, exclusive restrooms, and VIP parking. These tickets are priced at $80 per individual for a single day and $105 for a two-day pass.

The Kids Zone is available for $15 per person per day or $20 on-site. This package offers a full day of entertainment for children, including carnival rides, slides, and bounce houses. Families can also take part in a variety of activities such as viewing historic and military aircrafts, trying different food options, and browsing through various vendors.
