Law enforcement has apprehended Ivan Humberto Osuna, 41, of San Luis, in connection with the fatal shooting

of three victims in Yuma. Osuna is being charged with three counts of first-degree murder.

On the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at 4:30 p.m., Yuma County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to County 13th Street and Avenue F after two bodies were found on the side of the road. Upon their arrival, they identified the victims as Kristin Carrillo, 28 and Daniel Herrera, 31, both from San Luis, Arizona.

Approximately seven miles away and less than 10 minutes after the initial call, deputies responded to a shooting at 8th Street and Mojave Lane. There, they discovered Juan Luna-Montijo, 45, of Yuma, had been wounded by gunshot and tragically died soon after being taken to the hospital.

The detectives were able to determine Osuna as the suspect in the three killings. This month, the investigators received information that Osuna had been arrested in another state for an unrelated crime. Consequently, an arrest warrant was issued and he was extradicted to the Yuma County detention center on Tuesday.

Investigators have yet to identify a motive or establish whether Osuna had any connection with the alleged victims. If anyone has any information related to the investigation, they are encouraged to contact the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office on (928) 783-4427 or the 78-CRIME hotline (27463), with the option of remaining anonymous.
