Teen Arrested After Fatally Shooting 15 Year Old Girl In Phoenix

A teenage suspect was taken into custody over the weekend for his involvement in the fatal shooting of a teenage girl in south Phoenix on Sunday.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, law enforcement agents arrived at a residence close to Seventh Avenue and Broadway Road in response to a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, Daniella Espinosa, 15, was discovered lying on the ground with a gunshot injury. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she passed away.


A male individual was also struck by bullets. He was transported to a hospital by someone at the location with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to investigators, a teenage boy, whose identity remains undisclosed, was present in the house with a gun prior to the incident.

In a press release from Sgt. Phil Krynsky, the suspect was observed handling the firearm, which led to the firing of several shots that hit two victims.

The adolescent was sent to the Juvenile Court Center for a variety of allegations, such as second-degree homicide and aggravated battery.

An investigation is still underway and no additional information has been released.
