Some Cities Cancel Fourth of July Fireworks Due to Fire Danger

With the approaching holiday, some Arizona cities have cancelled their Fourth of July fireworks celebrations as many fires rage across Arizona.

On Friday, the City of Flagstaff announced its city-sponsored fireworks display scheduled at the Oakmont restaurant had been officially been canceled.

Flagstaff Restrictions


Flagstaff is currently under Stage 4 Fire Restrictions, prohibiting the sale or use of fireworks within the city.

Prior to Flagstaff’s announcement, Williams city officials announced their fireworks celebration was canceled.

The Town of Chino Valley has also announced the cancelled their planned fireworks celebration after considering the current fire restrictions in Yavapai County.

In addition, according to town officials, the town of Cave Creek will not be hosting a Fourth of July show this year as it is under a Stage 2 fire restriction.
