Scottsdale Police Investigating 21 Home Burglaries During Dinner Time In Recent Months

The Scottsdale police are alerting residents to be aware of a recent increase in incidents of residential burglaries during dinner time in communities located near golf courses and desert washes.

The police are reporting that robbers have been gaining entry into residences by using the backyard entrances after the homeowners have departed, typically over the in the evening hours.

Scottsdale police have recognized the crimes as an increasing pattern observed in multiple cities throughout the Valley and various agencies in Arizona are currently collaborating to conduct an investigation into the series of events.


According to a representative from Scottsdale law enforcement, there have been a total of 21 occurrences that are thought to be connected to this sequence, spanning from November 1, 2023 to January 23, 2024.

Authorities have reported that 18 of the occurrences took place in the Foothills District while the remaining three were reported in the Via Linda region.

In order to prevent themselves from becoming victims, the police are urging the community to stay extra cautious and actively participate in crime prevention methods. They recommend turning on outdoor lighting and lock and alarm your home every time you leave. Setting up outdoor cameras to deter and alert you to something out of the normal is recommended.
