Free Document Shred-a-Thon Community Event This Weekend in Yuma

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office (AGO) and the City of Yuma are hosting a free Shred-a-Thon community event this Saturday, October 8th, in Yuma.

There is no need to leave your car!  The public can stay in their vehicle and is asked to place documents requiring shredding in the trunk of their car prior to arriving.

There is a five-box max limit for shredded documents. Shredding your personal or sensitive documents is an important step to protecting your identity and your financial information.

Examples of items not accepted (but not limited to): binders, binder clips, electronics, inhalers, lotions or liquids, aerosols, needles, and hydrogen peroxide.

When: Saturday, October 8, from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (or until trucks are full).

Where: Yuma Civic Center. 1440 W. Desert Hills Dr., Yuma, AZ 85365

If there are any questions regarding this event, please contact AGO Community Outreach at (602) 542-2123 or at [email protected].

The AGO regularly hosts free Shred-A-Thons across the state throughout the year. Many of the events also provide a prescription drug take-back component.

Last year, the AGO assisted in helping Arizona communities destroy 162,750 pounds of sensitive documents.

More information on upcoming Shred-a-Thon and drug take-back events can be viewed here on the AGO website.
