Customized Emergency Alerts Offered to Maricopa County Residents By MCSO

The office of the Maricopa County Sheriff has introduced a new system which permits individuals to personalize emergency notifications according to their preferred locations, including their residence and workplace.

The 9-1-1 centers will utilize RAVE Alerts to inform the public in case of emergencies such as public safety issues, traffic crashes, individuals who are missing, and evacuations due to wildfires.

According to a statement, individuals can register online for a complimentary service that provides personalized notifications through SMS, email, and voice messaging. This service is open to all individuals residing, working, passing through, or visiting Maricopa County.

According to the press release from MCSO officials, the specified address could be your place of residence, workplace, or any other significant location to you.

Aside from emergency alerts, individuals also have the option to receive personalized community notifications, covering topics such as extreme weather, safety concerns, health updates, utility disruptions, road closures, and other related matters.

Emergency alerts will only be issued in situations where there is an imminent danger to individuals and/or their possessions. Notifications to the community will be distributed when the necessary requirements for sending an alert have been fulfilled.

Users have the ability to access their profiles and modify their notification preferences or opt out at any given moment.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office offers this service to the general public free of charge, although standard message and data rates may still be applicable.
