West Phoenix Brawl Leads To Fatal Stabbing of Food Truck Vendor

According to authorities, a 41-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a brawl late Saturday night in Phoenix. Detectives are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., law enforcement responded to a call regarding a stabbing that occurred outside of a commercial establishment in the vicinity of 35th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

Heriberto Acosta, a 41-year-old man, was discovered by officers with several stab wounds. Despite being taken to the hospital, Acosta succumbed to his injuries and passed away.


According to authorities, a group of men arrived in a vehicle at the parking lot as Acosta, a food truck vendor, was preparing to close for the evening. A physical altercation ensued between the men and the workers of the food truck. One of the individuals repeatedly stabbed Acosta before re-entering the vehicle and departing.

The reason behind the attack is still unknown to the detectives.
