Tempe Distillery in Good Spirits After Winning Award for Bourbon

Arizona Distilling Co., based in Tempe, Arizona, is putting itself on the map in a big way! For the third year in a row, this local craft beverage company has won a double gold medal for one of its exceptional products.

This time, it was for its Copper City Bourbon, which won double gold in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. This bourbon, which was finished in a cabernet wine barrel from Arizona’s very own Stronghold Vineyards, came out a step above the rest.

In the past two years, the distillery has also won double gold medals for its Mission Vodka and its Commerce Gin, as well as receiving recognition and awards for several of its other spirits. A gold medal for its Humphrey’s Arizona Malt Whiskey in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and a silver medal for its Desert Durum Wheat Whiskey in the same competition are just a few examples of the company’s success.

In recent years, the Arizona craft beverage industry has been growing steadily, but local companies still face a lot of competition from big brands, which boast money as an advantage. It’s a struggle that many small brands encounter and many change the face of their company to compete on a larger scale.

However, Arizona Distilling Co. is sticking to its roots and continuing to produce quality, handcrafted products with only the best ingredients. Each product is also given a local name, staying true to its origin. For example, the company’s Copper City Bourbon was named in honor of Arizona’s past and Park Rye Whiskey was named to honor Park Brewery, which was a pre-Prohibition brewery in the area.

The distillery now sells its products in five states and is working to expand even more. The goal of Arizona Distilling Co. is to surprise people with Arizona’s stories and share its culture with the world.
