Teacher Arrested in Buckeye For Alleged Sexual Contact With 15 Year Old High School Student

A former teacher is in jail accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old male student.

Buckeye police arrested 23-year-old Alyssa Todd on Wednesday on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and sexual conduct with a minor.

On Saturday, March 16, Buckeye police were contacted by Todd’s family member who said they suspected inappropriate contact between Todd and a student at Odyssey Institute for Advanced and International Studies High School.

At the time, Todd was a teacher and athletic coach at the school. The Buckeye Police Special Victims Unit began investigating.

Detectives reviewed communications between the suspect and victim and gathered evidence indicating the abuse had occurred on and off campus for at least two months.

On Wednesday, March 20, investigators arrested Todd at a home in Buckeye and booked her into jail on multiple sex crimes charges.

The Buckeye Police Department is committed to keeping schools safe for students to learn and thrive. This is the third arrest of a female sexual predator with ties to Buckeye local schools in less than a year.
