Swift celebrates 50 years with new truck designs

Swift Transportation Co., a Phoenix-based trucking company, is celebrating 50 years in business with two new designs for its fleet of trucks.

Both of the designs feature the American flag. One honors military veterans and the other celebrates Swift as a homegrown North American company.

“My dad and I started this company with nothing but an anything-is-possible attitude and the trust of our first vendor,” Moyes said. “I’m proud to say that we have nearly 18,000 employees who believe that working hard and constantly proving we deserve our customers’ trust will allow us to achieve any goals we put in place.”

Swift operates a fleet of 18,000 trucks driven by company and owner-operator drivers. The company has more than 40 major terminals positioned near major freight centers and traffic lanes in the United States and Mexico.

“Although we have only reserved the new graphics for a few thousand of our more than 18,000 trucks, Swift drivers currently cover more than one and a half billion miles of roadway each year, so there’s a pretty good chance you’ll see one on your travels,” said Richard Stocking, Swift president and chief operating officer.

Swift’s fleet of trucks, operating in United States, Canada and Mexico, include temperature-controlled, flatbed and specialized trailers.

Moyes is the former owner of the Phoenix Coyotes.
