A father was fatally shot in his home in northern Arizona and his son has been arrested in connection with the incident.

On Wednesday, there was a shooting at the home of Benjamin Smith and his father in the Show Low Pines area of Apache County, following an altercation between the 24-year-old and his father.

According to the Apache County Sheriff’s Office, Smith contacted 911 to report the incident, surrendered to authorities without resistance, and displayed cooperation. He is being charged with first-degree murder.
