Seven Arizonans have made Forbes’ list of the richest people in America this year. Automobiles drove the wealth of two of the seven. Many of these people have made this list in past years.

One of those who is a repeat on the list from last year is Ernest Garcia II. He was named the richest person in the state and ranked No. 114 overall in the country with a net worth of $5.7 billion. Garcia is the owner of DriveTime Automotive, which made much of his fortune selling used cars.

He’s seen a boost in net worth as the biggest shareholder of Carvana Co. He owns nearly 1.58 million shares.  Carvana was created out of DriveTime and is run by Garcia’s son, Ernest Garcia III. His son was a new addition to this year’s list with a net worth of $2.3 billion. He ranked No. 363 overall.

The remaining five Arizonans are not new to the list.

Arturo Moreno made his fortune with his billboard advertising company, Outdoor Systems. He is now owner of the Los Angeles Angels. He ranked No. 261 on the list with a net worth of $3.3 billion.

Mark Shoen is the co-owner of U-Haul parent company Amerco. He tied with Moreno at No. 261 with a net worth of $3.3 billion.

Bennett Dorrance is the Campbell Soup heir who owns a 15% stake in the company. He is one of the founders of DMB Associates, the developers behind Eastmark in Mesa and Verrado in Buckeye. He ranked No. 306 with a net worth of $2.7 billion.

Bob Parsons is the founder of GoDaddy Inc. and now owner of several businesses that include media companies and Parsons Xtreme Golf. He ranked No. 319 with a net worth of $2.7 billion.

Joe Shoen is President and Chairman of Amerco, where he owns a 21% stake in the company. He tied with Parsons at No. 319 with a net worth of $2.7 billion.

Topping the list this year was Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, with a net worth of $114 billion. He was followed by Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates and Berkshire Hathaway head Warren Buffett.
