Rihanna Comes to Phoenix

Rihanna performed at Talking Stick Resort Arena recently in Phoenix, Arizona while on her current tour. Not only did she sing a wide variety of older songs, she also included many newer songs from her album “Anti”. During the concert, there were hardly any uneventful moments. Throughout the concert, she did a good job of keeping everything moving very quickly. The concert seemed to be more of a show than just a simple concert. Rihanna also included many props throughout her sets, including a huge box that was put in the middle of the stage for her song “Birthday Cake.” To keep things even more interesting during the show, she had a variety of dancers that were often either dressed up in a costume or somehow incorporated into a theme.

Rihanna began the concert with the song “Stay.” This song was a great way to start the show as it was both entertaining, beautiful, and relaxing as a keyboard played in the background. As the concert progressed, Rihanna stayed moving throughout show, rarely sitting around. She often times moved around and danced to her songs, sometimes in a provocative way; which can be expected of this artist.

There were about 20 songs included within her set, about half of which were from her new album “Anti.” While many of these songs were newer, many fans seemed to know them and they sung along. There was a lot of crowd involvement as Rihanna nearly had everyone in the crowd either singing, dancing, holding up their phone lights, or a combination of them all.

Looking around into the crowd, there was rarely anyone who was sitting or looked bored. In fact, many people seemed to be enjoying themselves. While this concert was her one and only stop in Phoenix this year, Rihanna will continue to go on tour through the Fall.
