Out of State Man Dies After Falling During Sedona Hike

A resident of Maine died on Saturday during a hike with his spouse in Sedona.

As reported by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO), the 79-year-old victim, was from North Berwick. The individual was hiking the Pyramid Trail when he slipped and fell approximately 30-35 feet at approximately 1 p.m.

He reportedly had difficulties during the hike and was offered assistance multiple times. Despite this, he assured fellow hikers that he was okay before ultimately slipping down a steep embankment.


According to YCSO, the individual hit their head multiple times while falling.

The cause of his death was deemed to be accidental, and he was declared deceased at the location of the incident.
