MCSO Detectives Seize Drugs, Weapons and Cash While Executing Warrants

On Tuesday, June 20, 2023, MCSO Detectives of the Maricopa County Drug Suppression Task Force (MCDST) executed a series of Search Warrants on several locations and vehicles throughout the Phoenix Metro Area as part of an ongoing investigation into a Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO).

During these warrants, task force Detectives seized the following:

  • 6 Firearms (includes 1 stolen handgun)
  • 3,708 TCH Vape Cartridges
  • 50.9 pounds (23,091 grams) THC Cannabis biproduct
  • 4,000 Amphetamine Pills
  • 969 Xanax Pills
  • 120.4 Pounds (54,639 grams) High-Grade Marijuana
  • 12 Vials (50 ml) LSD liquid
  • 6000 LSD Tabs
  • 379 Grams raw Ketamine Powder
  • 25.7 Pounds (11,663 grams) Psilocybin Mushrooms
  • 3.2 Pounds (1453 grams) MDMA Crystalline
  • 3.30 Pounds (1.5 Kilos) Cocaine Powder
  • $30,547 Cash (approximate)
  • 3 Liters of TCH Distillate
  • 10 Ounces narcotic cough syrup Liquid

“Our detectives continue to do an excellent job investigating drug-related crimes and apprehending those responsible for illegally obtaining and distributing dangerous drugs throughout our communities,” said Sheriff Paul Penzone. “I’m grateful for their commitment to our Office and public safety.”


Despite the misconception of some of these items being decriminalized by state law, or readily available via prescription, the items seized pursuant to this investigation were obtained and being distributed illegally. Five suspects were either identified or taken into custody on several felony charges.
