Eighteen-year-old Ryan Serban and Nineteen-year-old Aidan Eggers have been identified as suspects involved in a shooting incident that took place on January 28, 2024, at the Walmart store located at 34399 North Cave Creek Road. Fortunately no injuries resulted in the incident.
On January 28, at approximately 6:00pm, Eggers fired rounds at the Walmart store and Serban later pointed a firearm at a victim located in the parking lot of the Walmart before fleeing the area.
On January 30th, Detectives arrested Ryan Serban at his place of employment without incident for disorderly conduct with a weapon and aggravated assault. During the interview, detectives obtained a full confession from Ryan on the incident. Detectives also obtained a search warrant for the residence and vehicle that was known to be driven by the Eggers. During the execution of the search warrant, Eggers attempted to run out the back of the residence but was met by MCSO Detectives and ran back inside.
Aiden Eggers was later arrested in the garage and provided a full confession to the shooting at the Walmart. The search of the home was completed, and two firearms were recovered inside the residence, one of which was reported stolen. The firearms matched the descriptions provided by witnesses and victims at the Walmart shooting.
“This was extremely reckless and dangerous behavior that put the community at risk. The success of identifying these suspects in this investigation demonstrates hard work and dedication by Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Deputies”, said Chief Deputy Russ Skinner.
Ryan Serban and Aidan Eggers have been booked into the Intake, Transfer and Release Facility for multiple charges to include aggravated assault, disorderly conduct with weapon, and threats charges.
Thanks to the quick response of MCSO patrol deputies, thorough processing of the crime scene, and swift investigative work of MCSO Detectives in their apprehension of these two suspects.
