Hit-and-Run Driver Kills Child in Goodyear

Tuesday afternoon, a driver hit a child riding bicycle and fled the scene in Goodyear. Police are now searching for that driver involved in the death of the child.

Police report that Tuesday an eighth-grade student was hit by a car near Estrella Parkway and Elliot Road while coming home from school. 13-year-old Dylan Buensuceso did not survive the crash.

Witnesses on the scene were able to give police a good description of the vehicle and driver. Goodyear police are searching for a full-size white Ford truck. The truck could possibly have front-end damage due to the incident. The driver was described to be a Hispanic male wearing a long-sleeved orange shirt at the time of the crash.

“Our message to the driver is please turn yourself in, this is a family that is impacted, think about it if this was your child,” said Lisa Berry of Goodyear Police.

A letter was sent to Estrella Elementary families that counselors will be available at school this week to offer help to the community to grieve the loss of one of their own.

Anyone with any information on this crash, the possible suspect or have surveillance video from the area, are asked to call police.
