Elton John Bringing Farewell Tour to Phoenix in 2022

Elton John will be returning to the Valley of the son. The music icon announced Wednesday one of the last shows of his farewell tour will be at Chase Field in late 2022.

The English singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer has produced more than 30 albums and has sold over 300 million records. John will play at Chase Field in Phoenix on Nov. 22, 2022. General public tickets to his Farewell Yellow Brick Road show will go on sale in Arizona at 10 a.m. June 30. Presales started Wednesday.

The voice behind hits as “Tiny Dancer,” “Bennie and the Jets,” “Your Song” and “I’m Still Standing” last performed in the Valley in January 2019. That show at Glendale’s Gila River Arena was part of his ongoing tour and was thought to be the last time he’d play in metro Phoenix.

“Hello, all you wonderful fans out there. I’m coming to you today with an announcement I’ve been working towards for, well, all my life: the shows that I announce today will be my final tour dates ever in North America and Europe. I’m going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career,” John said in a press release. “I can’t wait to see you all on the road one last time.”

This tour will mark John’s 12th concert in the Valley. He first performed here Sept. 17, 1971, at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
