A few months after making its return to the Phoenix metro area with a location in Gilbert, eegee’s is close to opening its second restaurant in Mesa.

The popular Tucson-based fast-food restaurant will open its newest restaurant on Tuesday, Dec. 14 in Mesa, near U.S. 60 and Crismon Road. Over the summer, eegee’s returned to the valley with their first location in Gilbert, near Baseline and Val Vista roads.

The Mesa location is modeled and considered a prototype design for all future eegee’s restaurants. The location includes an eegee’s a drive-thru window, a walk-up window, and dining room that features indoor-outdoor garage-style doors. The building itself is made of structural insulated panels, which are made from renewable sources and also allow for faster construction.

Eegee’s has hinted at plans to open at least a dozen restaurants in the Phoenix area, including locations expected to open in Gilbert, Phoenix, and Scottsdale. Eegee’s currently has more than 25 locations in the Tucson area.
