Deceased Body of Woman Missing From California, Discovered in La Paz County

Amanda Nenigar

On Saturday morning, the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office announced that they had found the body of missing California woman.

La Paz County Sheriff’s officials said the body of 26-year-old Amanda Nenigar was located Friday night in a remote area south of the small Arizona town of Cibola. They said the woman’s body was found under a tree about 1 ½ miles away from her abandoned car.

Nenigar was last seen alive on Feb. 28 near Blythe, California, and authorities said her car reportedly was located more than a week later with the back of the vehicle on a large boulder.

Authorities said Nenigar lived near Blythe but frequently drove to La Paz County where her other family members live.

Due to her clothes being found not too far from her body, investigators believe she may have been trying to cool off by removing her clothes and finding shade under a tree before possibly dying from exposure. An autopsy report will determine the official cause of death.

According to Ponce, the body’s state of decomposition suggests Amanda may have been dead for quite some time.
