Death of Tucson Police Officer in Overnight Crash Who Was Responding To Call

A Tucson officer who was responding to a service call died on Sunday evening after a crash near the University of Arizona campus.

According to the Tucson Police Department, the collision occurred in the vicinity of Campbell Avenue and Sixth Street just before 10 p.m. The department have released limited details in the accident at the present time.

The identity of the officer has not yet been disclosed.


The department expressed their condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased in a recent social media post.

The police department will host a news conference on Monday morning.
