Charter School Vandalizing Leads To Arrests Of Two Boys By Scottsdale Police

The Scottsdale Police Department have arrested two juveniles for committing vandalism at a charter school in Scottsdale earlier in the week, resulting in damages exceeding $40,000.

Two boys were responsible for vandalizing BASIS Scottsdale, located near 124th Street and Shea Boulevard, on Sunday. The school’s security system captured footage of the two boys gaining access to the school premises by crawling under a fence.

According to reports, the boys hurled rocks and caused damage to more than 30 windows.


The school resource unit of Scottsdale Police apprehended the two offenders.

Police stated that charges for aggravated criminal damage and trespass will be filed with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office after further evidence has been gathered.

It was not disclosed by officials whether the two minors were enrolled as students in the school.

According to a representative from BASIS Scottsdale, the school has been vandalized three times in the past 13 or 14 months.
