Certification Relinquished By Employee Accused of Impregnating Long-Term Care Patient

According to state records, an individual working at a long-term healthcare facility in Gilbert has voluntarily relinquished their certification after facing allegations of impregnating a patient.

Records from the Arizona State Board of Nursing, they were made aware in November of complaints from both the Arizona Department of Health Services and personnel at the Palm Valley Post Acute facility. The complaints allege that Bobby Lee Williams, a certified nursing assistant engaged in sexual activity with a resident of the facility. The staff also claims that he got the patient pregnant.

Williams allegedly confessed to having consensual sexual intercourse with a patient in or around June of 2023. Williams received his nursing assistant certificate on June 30, 2023.

During an interview with Williams on Dec. 26, 2023, investigators questioned him if he had consensual sexual intercourse with a patient. Williams informed investigators the patient initiated contact first, but he did in fact have sexual intercourse with the patient.  Williams voluntarily surrendered his nursing assistant certificate that same day.

The man is currently under investigation by Goodyear police, although the specifics of the investigation have not been disclosed.

As per the nursing board’s website for verifying licenses, the individual’s certification as a nursing assistant has been formally surrendered on January 16th.

No additional information has been released on the investigation.
