Canine Found Skinned in Phoenix Trash Container As Incidents of Animal Abuse Increase

On Tuesday, a dead, skinned dog was found in a trash receptacle at a Phoenix apartment complex near 23rd Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road in north Phoenix. This case is just one of many in the increasing number of animal cruelty occurrences.

The Phoenix Police Department contacted the Arizona Humane Society concerning the case of an animal, reportedly a greyhound, that was found inside a garbage bag with only its hind legs exposed.

The investigators discovered a cigarette that had been burned and placed inside the mouth of the animal.

Law enforcement seized the trash sack and cigarette as evidence, and the canine’s corpse was taken to the Midwestern University in Glendale to be examined postmortem.
