California Woman Dies From Fall While Hiking in Sedona

On Monday, a woman from California passed away after she fell 140 feet down a cliff while on a hike in Sedona.

According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO), Zynad Joseph, aged 40, was on a hike at Bear Mountain with her spouse and 1-year-old baby when the event took place.

A team of hikers paused upon hearing shouts, and one of them ventured down a steep slope to reach Joseph, who was still alive.


When the Sedona firefighters arrived to the scene, she was declared deceased.

The California woman was visiting Sedona with her family.

Joseph’s husband and child were flown off the mountain and rescue volunteers were able to recover the woman’s body.
