Arizona’s First Ice Bar Opens in Scottsdale

The Odysea in the Desert Complex in Scottsdale, AZ is home to Arizona’s first ice bar.

The ice bar, Polar Play, is a lot more than just your average ice bar — it is a complete polar experience promising a whole lot of cool fun for the entire family.

Guests will enter the ice bar through the lodge style front room, where the staff will get them ready for their tundry fun. Each participant is dressed in a parka and mittens, as well as set up with their free Polar Play mobile fun app where they can play lots of fun games and trivia once inside the bar.


After each customers is prepared for the tundra climate, their next stop in the fun is the completely frozen 23 degree room that is made entirely of ice. Over thirty thousand pounds of ice were sculpted and shaped to create the bar, benches, walls, and even the floors.

The walk-in freezer boasts an additional 30,000 pounds of sculpted ice art for the more artistic arctic customers to enjoy.

Once inside the freezer, the beautiful arctic ambience, complete with Arctic lights and sounds, guests can enjoy a fun game such as corn hole or checkers amidst a full arctic experience.

The Polar Play ice bar is open on most days from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 9500 E Via De Ventura in Scottsdale.

The cover charge is $15 for adults and $10 for kids for one full hour and includes the parka, mittens, and Polar Play app. All drinks are in addition to this cover charge.

The food menu includes subs, giant taters, salads, and brats. With drinks including sloshies, slushies, and gushers as well as hot coffee for those wishing to warm up just a bit while cooling off.
