The Department of Defense reported that an Arizona soldier lost his life in a helicopter crash last week, along with four other servicemembers.

On Friday night, a US military aircraft crashed in the middle of a training mission over the Mediterranean Sea, as reported by the US European Command on Sunday. All five crew members lost their lives in the tragedy, which happened during a routine air refueling exercise.

On Monday morning, it was announced that those who had been impacted by the crash were individuals from the US Army:

Sgt. Andrew P. Southard, aged 27, of Apache Junction, Arizona
Chief Warrant Officer 3 Stephen R. Dwyer, 38, from Clarksville, Tennessee
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Shane M. Barnes, 34, of Sacramento, California
Staff Sgt. Tanner W. Grone, 26 years old, from Gorham, New Hampshire
Sgt. Cade M. Wolfe, 24, hailing from Mankato, Minnesota

According to representatives from the Department of Defense, there are no signs that the crash was due to any hostile forces.
