2 New Restaurants, 1 New Bar Coming To Sky Harbor Terminal 3

When the North Concourse opens inside the John S. McCain III Terminal 3 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport next year, travelers will have a few more spots to grab a meal and/or a drink before catching their flights. They will also have a few more stores for snacks, magazines, and last-minute gifts.

PHX Beer Co., Ajo Al’s, Scramble, and Starbucks will have locations inside the North Concourse, Greg Roybal, PIO for the City of Phoenix’s Aviation Department, confirmed. Storefronts include Discover Arizona and Stellar News + Market.

They join The Parlor, SanTan Brewing, The Tavern by Mark Tarbell, Christopher’s, Mustache Pretzels, Habit Burger, Uberrito, Panera and Starbucks, all of which are located in the South Concourse of Terminal 3. That concourse opened in January 2019, part of a multi-year $590 million renovation and modernization of the terminal.

Specifically when the North Concourse will open has not yet been announced. Airport officials said it is expected to open in early 2020. A spokesperson for PHX Beer Co. said their location was on schedule to open sometime in February.

Heather J. Shelbrack, an airport spokesperson, said that the North Concourse would have 10 gates and allow passengers “access to charging stations from nearly every seat.”

Which airlines will use which gates was still being finalized, she said.

“The terminal was created to allow flexibility so that airlines could use different gates as needed,” she said.

Currently, Terminal 3 is home to Delta, Frontier, Hawaiian, JetBlue, Spirit, and Sun Country airlines. When the North Concourse opens, airlines that were housed at Terminal 2 — Alaska, Boutique Air, Contour Airlines, United — would move over to Terminal 3, she said.

Terminal 2 is scheduled to close when the North Concourse opens and will eventually be demolished.
