West Valley Teen Critical After Shooting At Westgate, Police Searching For Suspects

An 18-year-old male was shot at the Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale Monday afternoon and is in critical condition.

Police report that the shooting that took place just shortly before 4 p.m. in a parking lot at Sunrise and Coyote boulevards.

A small group of individuals were standing outside of a light-colored sedan, engaged in a conversation with three people inside the vehicle.  Shots were fired from inside the sedan at the people standing outside the car, according to authorities.


When officers arrived on scene, the suspects had fled, and they located a young man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition. According to Glendale Police Department, the victim is expected to survive.

A full investigation is underway, and detectives are questioning those individuals who were with the victim at the time of the shooting. It is believed the suspect(s) and victim knew each other.

Police are searching for three individuals who were inside the light-colored sedan.
