Suspect Arrested For Stabbing Homeless Man Near ASU’s Tempe Campus

On March 16, Tempe police responded to College Avenue Commons, near 7th Street and College Avenue for reports of a stabbing.

According to reports, officials encountered a 33-year-old homeless man who had sustained stab wounds. When officials arrived on scene, he was being cared for by bystanders. The individual received medical attention from Tempe FD at the location and was then taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.


Arizona State University Police took Marcus Antonio into custody for the alleged stabbing of the victim.  It was not disclosed what events preceded the act of stabbing.

According to the university, a message was distributed to the campus community, and it was stated that none of the parties involved are associated with Arizona State University.

It is anticipated that the victim will make a full recovery from the attack.
