Isaiah Roberts

Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a reported sexual assault at a retirement community in Glendale. Isaiah Roberts, age 26, has been charged with sex crimes and other offenses.

In the early morning hours of Friday, January 12, Glendale authorities were summoned to the Kachina Place apartment complex, located close to the intersection of 67th Avenue and Bethany Home Road. Upon arrival, they encountered Roberts, who was allegedly shouting and causing a disturbance by knocking on doors. The officers apprehended him and proceeded to interview the building’s occupants.

According to a victim, he was awakened by an unfamiliar man standing over him. The victim confronted the man, asking why he was in his apartment. The man responded with a crude remark, suggesting that he intended to sexually assault him. The victim then demanded that the suspect leave, leading to a physical altercation.

Based on legal records, the victim reported being sexually assaulted for over an hour and stated that the perpetrator continuously punched him in the head when he attempted to open the front door to seek assistance. The victim informed the authorities that the suspect eventually departed and he later heard another cry from a neighboring apartment.

According to police, the scream was actually from another victim. The man informed the officers that he had heard a knock at his door and inquired about the reason for the visitor’s presence. The suspect claimed to also reside in the complex, but the victim pointed out that the complex is designated for individuals aged 62 and above. When the suspect attempted to alter his story by stating that his girlfriend lived there, the victim attempted to shut the door and was allegedly struck in the face.

The two individuals were transported to the hospital, where it was discovered that the victim had suffered from physical harm to his face and other body parts, including a fractured hand, from the sexual assault. Furthermore, authorities uncovered traces of blood in the victim’s residence and obtained samples for DNA analysis.

After being arrested, Roberts was questioned by detectives. According to official records, he stated that he was at his friend’s apartment celebrating his 26th birthday. The apartment complex of his friend is situated at the intersection of 64th Drive and Rose Lane, and is adjacent to Kachina Place.

According to reports, he confessed to investigators that while under the influence of alcohol, he often has a habit of simply wandering off. He further stated that he was unaware of the reason for the damage to his sweatpants. Roberts, who has a history of previous convictions for burglary, theft, and robbery, was arrested on new charges that include sexual offenses, abduction, unlawful entry, physical assault, and violation of probation.
