Prescott Valley Authorities Initiate Investigation Into Fires and Vandalism Affecting Local High School and Apartment Complexes

An investigation is being conducted by Prescott Valley authorities into a fire that caused significant damage at a construction site for an apartment complex in the early hours of Monday.

Authorities in Prescott Valley are currently looking into a series of recent fires and acts of vandalism that have targeted both a nearby high school and an apartment construction site in the area.

Within a span of seven days, two sites have incurred extensive financial harm, but the perpetrator(s) responsible remain unidentified.


On both March 29 and March 31, the initial occurrence took place at Bradshaw Mountain High School.

According to authorities, an unidentified individual caused substantial financial damage amounting to a minimum of $60,000 to the property on two occasions, specifically between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on both mornings. The incident resulted in significant harm to both a building and the running track.

The individual in question was caught on camera while dressed in all black attire, including a mask, gloves, and boots. They were also observed wearing a headlamp and a camera similar to a “Go-Pro.”

In the early hours of April 1, a fire of devastating proportions tore through a construction site for an apartment complex in Prescott Valley. The fire erupted at the Legado complex site near Florentine Road and Main Street around 1 a.m. The blaze prompted evacuations of nearby apartments and road closures.

According to authorities, the building/parking lot structure spanning 685,000 square feet, which was currently being built, was completely consumed by flames and is now a total loss.

According to law enforcement officials, the estimated cost of the destruction is around $60 million.

Prescott Valley Police Department have also reported that an investigation is currently underway at Bradshaw Mountain High School for potential “criminal activity” that occurred on April 4th. This comes after significant damage, amounting to tens of thousands of dollars, was inflicted on the school’s campus. The suspect(s) entered the school and interior rooms were vandalized.

Bradshaw Mountain High School cancelled classes on Thursday to facilitate a full investigation.

The Prescott police are seeking the help of the public to help identify the individual or individuals responsible for all three incidents.

It was not disclosed by officials if there is any connection between the incidents or if they believe the crimes were committed by the same suspect.

A team consisting of the ATF is looking into a string of occurrences.
