As movie theaters struggle to fill auditoriums, Harkins has come up with a way to stay afloat during the pandemic.

The local theater chain is taking its popcorn on the road. Harkins has debuted their new Harkins Popcorn Truck. The truck provides their tasty movie theater popcorn at your private party or event. Along with the freshly-popped popcorn, guests can also enjoy theater-style snacks like nachos, hot dogs, soft pretzels and cotton candy.

This isn’t the first time Harkins Theaters has had to get creative with generating business. Last year during the pandemic, the chain offered curbside popcorn sales at certain locations. Drivers could pull up to the outside of the theater and purchase a “party bag” for $10. A Harkins employee, wearing a mask, would bring the bags right to the car.

The chain also took into account everyone’s concern about staying careful about social distancing, Harkins also began offering private movie parties. The theater offered patrons the opportunity to rent an entire auditorium for you and up to 20 guests for a cost of $99 to $149, depending on the movie.

Right now, the Harkins Popcorn Truck is available to “pop up” at your private event including birthdays, weddings, fundraisers and corporate gatherings. For more information, visit Harkins.com.
