March Madness 2017 Comes to Phoenix

If you haven’t been following the annual college basketball craze March Madness, this year Phoenix hosts the NCAA Final Four. The collegiate basketball semifinal and championship games will be held at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale on April 1 and April 3, but there are many more events than just what is happening on the court. 

Though the exact teams are not known yet for the Final Four, tickets are still available starting at $195. If you are going to the game, Tip-Off Tailgate at the Great Lawn at University of Phoenix Stadium will be hosting signature tailgates featuring skills challenges, a beer garden, live music and more from March 31 to April 3.

To accompany the excitement on the court, the 2017 March Madness Music Festival begins on Friday, March 31 at Margaret T. Hance Park in downtown Phoenix. This free festival has Keith Urban headlining on March 31 starting at 4 p.m. – 10 p.m., The Chainsmokers are playing on Saturday, April 1 with the event running from 2 p.m. – 10:30 p.m., and lastly Aerosmith and Macklemore with Ryan Lewis play on Sunday, April 2 from 3 p.m. – 10 p.m. For more information about the March Madness Music Festival, visit the NCAA website. 


Additionally, the Final Four Fan Fest with youth clinics, interactive games, and autograph sessions will be held at the Phoenix Convention Center from March 31 to April 3. Another family friendly event in downtown Phoenix event is the Final Four Dribble on Sunday, April 2 where thousands of children will receive basketballs to dribble along a route ending at the Fan Fest entrance.
