Man Arrested For Recording Underneath Woman’s Dress at Scottsdale Fashion Square

In Scottsdale, authorities report that a male suspect was taken into custody for filming under a woman’s skirt at Scottsdale Fashion Square in May 2023.

According to the woman, while riding an escalator, she experienced a gust of wind from behind her dress. She also mentioned feeling an object as she attempted to brush her dress with her hand.

As per the woman’s account, she witnessed a man holding his phone underneath her dress. She proceeded to confront him at the upper end of the escalator, where he denied recording her and displayed his phone’s screen to her.

According to authorities, the woman seized the man’s phone and while she contacted the police, the man escaped with his phone before the arrival of the officers.

The entire event was recorded by surveillance cameras, revealing that the man arrived at the escalator about eight seconds after the victim and proceeded to quickly climb two steps at a time in order to catch up with the victim.

During the inquiry, law enforcement was able to verify that the individual’s mobile device was powered on and he seemed to alternate between various apps before displaying his phone to the woman.

On February 3rd, the Gilbert police reached out to the Scottsdale police regarding a potential lead in the investigation.

Upon investigation, Trey Robert Herman, 23, was taken into custody at his residence on Wednesday and then transferred to the Scottsdale City Jail. Authorities report that Herman’s mobile device was confiscated and is currently awaiting a search warrant.

It is uncertain whether there were any additional individuals affected.
