Authorities in Mohave County are investigating a homicide after human remains were discovered.

On Sunday, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office was called for a possible body in a remote desert. The caller informed authorities that he was riding his off-road vehicle in Yucca near Alamo Road in the desert when he located the remains.

When deputies arrived they discovered a large pile of debris. Upon investigating, deputies discovered human remains wrapped in a tarp among debris.

According to MCSO, the remains appear to be that of an adult male, but identification has not yet been made.

The Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine a cause of death and identification.
