Former UofA Basketball Player Arrested For Kidnapping, Murdering Nevada Woman

Chance Comanche, a former Arizona Wildcats player is accused of kidnapping and murdering a woman in the Las Vegas area.

According to a release, Comanche, 27, was taken into custody on Friday by the FBI in Sacramento California and is pending extradition to Nevada.

According to an LVMPD investigation, Comanche played a part in the disappearance of Marayna Rodgers in early December.

Rodgers was reported missing on Dec. 7. Detectives learned that Rodgers had been out with friends two days prior and had a pre-arranged meeting with 19-year-old Sakari Harnden — Comanche’s girlfriend.

Harnden was arrested on kidnapping charges on Dec. 13, followed by the arrest of Comanche two days later.

Based on information obtained after their arrest, detectives located Rodgers’ body in the desert near Henderson, Nevada.

Authorities have charged Harnden and Comanche of killing Rodgers. The two also are facing kidnapping charge.

Comanche was a player for the Stockton Kings, which is an NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings. He was released from the team after his arrest. He played center for the University of Arizona’s Arizona Wildcats from 2016-2017.
