Fatal Accident In Mesa Kills Two 13-Year-Olds After High-Speed Stolen Car Crash

Two 13-year-old’s are dead as a result of a high-speed accident early Wednesday morning.

Officers from the Mesa Police Department responded to a call of an accident involving two vehicles at the corner of Country Club Drive and Main Street.

Police report that a Hyundai Elantra with two occupants traveling eastbound at a rapid pace collided with a Ford Edge going southbound. The Elantra hit a pole.


According to Mesa Police Department officials, the people in the Hyundai Elantra car were killed immediately upon impact. The vehicle was reported stolen and was occupied by two 13-year-olds, according to Mesa Police Department officials. The suspicion of impairment is under investigation.

Passengers in the Ford Edge, which was being used as a rideshare at the time of the accident, suffered minor injuries.

Mesa police say the names for the teen boys will not be released out of respect for their families.
