Fan Index shows Diamondbacks with lowest prices in MLB

Taking a family out to an Arizona Diamondbacks ballgame at Chase Field is not cheap but it’s less costly than other Major League Baseball stadiums.

An annual study by the Team Marketing Report shows that the Diamondbacks had the lowest Fan Cost Index in the league for the tenth straight season.

It costs $132 for a family of four to attend a Diamondbacks game, $88 less than the the league average of $220.

“It is our goal to always be one of the most affordable and fan friendly teams in not only MLB, but among all professional sports teams,” said Derrick Hall, Diamondbacks president and CEO. “We take great pride in having the lowest Fan Cost Index in baseball year after year and are particularly proud to offer affordable pricing for families to enjoy a game.”

Ballpark costs have been computed annually by Team Marketing Report since 1991. The study looks at the cost of four average tickets, two beers, four soft drinks, four hot dogs, parking for one car, two programs and two adult-sized hats.

The Diamondbacks average ticket price is $18.53, about $13 cheaper than the league average.
