A woman from California passed away on Sunday afternoon after drowning in an Arizona lake.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, Cynthia Marin, 49, dove into Lake Havasu at approximately 2 p.m. near The Islander RV Resort as reported by authorities.
Upon entering the water, the woman’s life jacket became detached. It was later discovered by authorities that it had not been properly secured.
According to the MCSO, Marin experienced a state of panic before submerging underwater. Despite the deployment of rescue divers and a helicopter, they were unsuccessful in locating her.
