A West Valley man was taken into custody on Tuesday for allegedly child abuse after a baby was hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to the Buckeye Police Department, 27-year-old David Roman was responsible for the care of a 4-month-old girl when she sustained an injury.

On March 13, law enforcement was informed when an infant was taken to a hospital for treatment of severe injuries including skull fractures, brain bleeding, and broken ribs.

“After multiple medical exams and tests were conducted, it was determined the baby girl’s injuries were not accidental,” police said. “Detectives arrested Roman yesterday and booked him on several counts of child abuse and endangerment.”
