An investigation is underway at the Arizona State Capitol, after a body was found on Wednesday morning.

Phoenix Police discovered the body around 6:44 a.m. in the area of 17th Avenue between Adams and Jefferson streets. The investigation has been turned over to DPS, who has jurisdiction over the state Capitol grounds.

The cause of death is unknown at the present time. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office will issue a report on the cause of death.
