Arizona State Fairgrounds to Host Drive-In Concerts

Live entertainment will be back in Phoenix this Fall with a COVID-19 safety twist.

A new socially distanced drive-in concert series called “Concerts in Your Car” is set to debut this October at the Arizona State Fairgrounds.

Staged by CBF Productions, the initial scheduled shows feature Tower of Power, The Beach Boys, Aaron Lewis & Sully Erna, and 311. Tower of Power will kick off the series on Oct. 16.

Each show will feature a 360-degree stage and large visual screens so fans won’t miss a thing. The audio will be broadcast from the stage as well as an FM frequency each car stereo can tune to, similar to a drive-in theater.

Since concerts and live events have been halted amid the coronavirus pandemic, drive-in events have surged in popularity.

“Concerts in Your Car” originated in June in Ventura, California, and has since expanded to San Diego, California, and now Phoenix.

Ticket prices start at $99 per car. Parking spots will not be assigned before arrival and are first-come, first parked. Concessions will be available for purchase. Masks and social distancing will be enforced.
