Arizona Coronavirus Cases Inches Near 4,000, With 142 Reported Deaths

Wednesday morning’s report from the Arizona health department detailed an increase of 156 coronavirus positive cases and 11 additional deaths in the state

The new state totals of the COVID-19 outbreak are now 3,962 cases and 142 deaths. Arizona has administered 45,310 tests.

Maricopa County saw an increase by 90 to 2,146 according to the report, bringing the Phoenix-area death total to 60, which was increased by six from the previous day. Currently, Maricopa County’s cases have resulted in 20% of the patients requiring hospitalization.


In a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey said he is eager to open up the state from the stay-at-home order to jump start the economy, but only when the time is right. He announced he is working closely with Arizona business leaders to provide their feedback on a plan for economic recovery.
