Honor Pat’s Legacy on April 21, 2018

The Pat Tillman’s foundation’s annual signature event Pat’s run will be held at the Arizona State University on April 21, from 7:05 am, in their Sun Devil Stadium. This will be the foundation’s 14th Annual event. Registration will officially be opened this week.

The Kids will also run from 9.45 am the same day.

The event will begin at the University’s Tempe campus, winding through the south Scottsdale and North Tempe, before the 42-yard finish line at the Sun Devil Stadium.

This annual event honors Pat Tillman’s life, who was a former ASU footballer.  His jersey number was 42, and he went on to play for the Arizona Cardinals. After the September 11 attacks, he volunteered to join the US military and was killed in Afghanistan during a friendly fire in 2004. He was awarded a Purple Heart and Silver Star posthumously.

Because his jersey was number 42, the event is composed of a 4.2-mile walk/run, and a 0.42 mile run for all the children under 12 years of age that are participating.

This event attracts an annual participation of over 35,000 people who volunteer, run/walk or spectate from the whole country. Pat’s legacy of Leadership and service commitment is greatly honored. The people also pay tribute to him, by ensuring all the proceeds from this great event go towards benefiting the Tillman Military Scholars program.

Registration is open now on the Pat’s Run website.  If you plan on participate in the event, early registration is recommended as the race sold out last year.
