Zookz adds alcohol, gluten-free items

After being open for one year, Zookz is celebrating their anniversary with a liquor license.  The specialty sandwich shop now has new menu offerings including a Bloody Mary, Mimosa, Screwdriver, Beer, and Wine.

Located on the northeast corner of Central Avenue and Camelback Road, the restaurant in the Uptown shopping center has a weekend breakfast special where guest can enjoy a mimosa with the toasted sandwich of the week for $10.  Special breakfasts now being offered at Zookz include items such as eggs benedict with ham and fresh spinach or chorizo, or poached egg with avocado and queso fresco.

For a mid-week pick-me-up you can try their Mac & Cheese Zookz which are mac and cheese stuffed sandwiches.  One tasty Mac & Cheese Zookz is the ham and parmesan topped with creamy alfredo mac and cheese.  The Wednesday special also includes a house-made side and a fountain drink or freshly brewed tea for $9.75.

Zookz is now also offering gluten-free bread made by local bakery Gluten Free Creations.  Those with gluten sensitivities are now offered a wider variety of choices.

The specialty sandwich shop is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Stuck at the office over lunch?  Zookz also offers delivery!  If you would like to see their offerings a menu is available here.
