YouTube TV Coming to Phoenix, Nine Other Cities

The online video service YouTube announced late last month that it will be bringing its live streaming service, called YouTube TV, to Phoenix.

In a press release, the Internet video giant said that the service will be available in “a couple of weeks,” which means that it should be expected in the coming days.

YouTube TV is an entertainment service that allows live television streaming from the most popular networks in the United States, including ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX, in addition to many other frequently watched channels. It allows for recording saved programs to the cloud and the service costs $35 monthly. YouTube TV allows for unlimited cloud storage and will let users watch their library anywhere, even in areas without cellular reception or Internet.

The service is simple to hook up to your mobile device, computer or television, and multiple people in the household, up to six separate accounts, can watch it at once. YouTube says that one of the benefits of using the service is that unlike cable providers, which can sometimes entice consumers to sign long contracts, there is no long-term commitment to the service and it is possible to cancel your subscription at any time.

Some cities in the country, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago already have YouTube TV available.

Now, Phoenix is one of almost a dozen other cities in the United States, which will be receiving the service. Other cities receiving the service this time around include Washington D.C., Dallas-Fort Worth, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Miami-Fort Lauderdale and Houston.

Those interested in signing up for the new service can leave contact information on the YouTube website and will receive an email notification when the service is available in their area.
