Phoenix police are investigating the death of a woman who was found with a fatal gunshot wound early Saturday morning in the city’s west side.
Officers responded to reports of “unknown trouble” just before 6 a.m. near the intersection of Osborn Road and 55th Avenue, not far from Maryvale High School, according to Sgt. Lorraine Fernandez of the Phoenix Police Department.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a woman in her 20s unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Phoenix Fire personnel later confirmed her death at the scene.
The woman has not yet been identified, and detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No suspects have been named, and police have not released additional details at this time.
